Liberty Mutual Insurance commercial property claims unit has added two new technologies to inspect and estimate commercial property claims remotely.
Using the first technology, customers can live stream a video from the damaged property to the claims specialists, allowing them to quickly understand the damage.
The second technology is a Liberty Mutual app. Through the app, customers can send images of the damage from a smartphone or a tablet.
Claims managers use these images to measure the impacted area and quickly estimate and adjust claims.
The move is line with the current need to adjust property claims effectively as Covid-19 pandemic places huge challenge for insurers to access properties for inspection.
Liberty Mutual commercial property claims manager Taylor Archambault said: “Liberty Mutual has invested in technology, infrastructure and processes to quickly, accurately and safely adjust property claims remotely.

The latest technologies add to the existing aerial photography solution which the company already uses to understand the size and location of property losses.
Aerial photography quickly evaluates the damages to commercial property policyholders across an affected area.
Once a customer raises a claim, the property claims unit photographs the sites without having to contact the customers.
However, it is understood that sometimes in-person damage evaluation becomes necessary, especially when huge losses are involved.
In such cases, claims specialists work with customers to ensure the right timing, protections, social distancing, state rules and other measures are met when they come for in-person inspections.
