The team have an excellent reputation in the market and bring a wealth of knowledge and new technical skills to Davies. The deal extends our motor engineering reach to Scotland, UK and I’m pleased to be able to offer our clients our enhanced proposition. Davies continues shopping
In November 2019, Davies snapped up Thornton Group, an Irish multi-line claims adjusting and third party administration firm.
The deal value was not revealed.
Thornton serves insurers, brokers, MGAs and corporates, offering claims solutions in property, casualty, energy, jewellery, as well as marine and engineering.
The business has three branches, with headquarters in Dublin.
The takeover will result in several changes in the leadership line-up. As part of the deal, Davies senior executive Peter Haran will assume the role of CEO of Davies Claims Solutions in Ireland.
Meanwhile, Thornton CEO John Eves will become chairman in Ireland. Further, Thornton senior executive Conor Kennedy will now serve as the chief commercial officer in Ireland.
The latest deal continues Davies’ recent consolidation activities as a month previously, the firm purchased Alternative Service Concepts, a workers’ compensation and property and casualty third party administrator.
