Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), a subsidiary of US-based insurance broker and risk advisor Marsh, has purchased two insurance companies in the US.
These are Red Bank, New Jersey-based Hudson Shore Group and AmeriStar Agency, which is based in Wayzata, Minnesota.
Set up in 2010, the Hudson Shore Group caters to public sector clients and brings expertise in large-group and alternative-funded benefits programmes.
It provides employee benefits, consulting and administrative services.
Marsh McLennan Agency Northeast region CEO Jerry Alderman said: “The Hudson Shore Group team is known for developing and managing comprehensive employee benefits solutions that mitigate the rising costs of healthcare for local school districts and municipalities as well as for small and midsize businesses.

As per the agreement, all Hudson Shore Group and AmeriStar Agency employees will continue operating out of their offices in Red Bank and Wayzata, respectively.
Financial terms of both the transactions remain undisclosed.
These deals follow MMA’s expansion through the acquisition of Perkins Insurance Agencies.
Perkins, a West Texas-based agency established in 1977, offers specialised services in sectors such as trucking, oil and gas, and the restaurant industry.
