Zurich North America, a unit of Zurich, has announced the appointment of former AIG leader Nora Hattauer as the new head of financial lines.
Hattauer will spearhead the financial lines division of Zurich’s US National Accounts and Middle Market businesses, which offer an array of insurance solutions for businesses.
She is set to begin her new role on 21 October and will be based in Atlanta.
Hattauer brings nearly two decades of industry expertise to Zurich, where she will oversee the strategic direction, management and performance of the company’s financial lines unit.
The financial lines unit at Zurich offers a suite of insurance solutions tailored for D&O, cyber, financial Institutions and private/non-profit segments.
In her new role, Hattauer will report to Paul Lavelle, head of US National Accounts, and Alex Wells, head of middle market.

Her most recent role was as head of management liability for national accounts.
She also served as chief underwriting officer for the public company segments and regional underwriting manager.
Before her time at AIG, Hattauer worked underwriting roles at Chubb and the St. Paul Companies.
In a separate development, Zurich North America recently promoted Arooran Sivasubramaniam to head of Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) for North America.
ZRS is dedicated to providing customers with risk insights and innovative services aimed at reducing risks and enhancing business management.
Furthermore, in August, Zurich General Insurance Malaysia, in collaboration with GXBank, launched Cyber Fraud Protect, a digital insurance product on the Zurich Edge platform.
This product is designed to protect customers from the financial implications of cybercrime, covering unauthorised electronic transfers from bank accounts, e-wallets and cards.
