Fujitsu and SAP Fioneer have entered an alliance, aiming to foster innovation in products, channels and processes, and enhance governance in the Japanese insurance sector with digital transformation.   

In this regard, the two companies sealed a partnership master agreement focused on product planning, development and marketing efforts, as well as development of a cloud-based platform tailored for the local market.

The cloud platform, Japan Edition of SAP Fioneer Cloud for Insurance, is designed to help customers standardise core insurance operations such as product management, quotation, underwriting, policy management and claim management. 

Developing this platform as the de facto standard for business collaboration will enable insurance companies to allocate resources to high-value areas such as new product development and sales channel expansion, while maintaining the IT capabilities and continuous quality improvements. 

Fujitsu will undertake proof-of-concept projects with customers to assess the feasibility of the Japan Edition of SAP Fioneer Cloud for Insurance.
