Reinsurance company SCOR has named Henry Mummé-Young as the new chief underwriting officer (CUO) for SCOR UK and active underwriter for SCOR Syndicate 2015.

The appointment is pending regulatory approval.

In 2021, he was promoted to the role of global line head for political and credit risks, extending his expertise across both Syndicate and company markets.

Before his stint at SCOR, Mummé-Young honed his underwriting skills at ACE and Liberty.

SCOR Business Solutions CEO Claire McDonald said: “I am very happy to see Henry take on this important role for SCOR UK and the syndicate. As someone who has worked across both, he is an ideal candidate to continue the development and growth journey of the two platforms.

“I would also like to thank Marie Biggas for her valuable leadership in this role over the last 2.5 years, and for covering the interim since her appointment to global CUO for SCOR Business Solutions and Fac.”

Beazley added: “We are delighted to appoint Henry to this role. I have no doubt his broad skillset and experience will further strengthen our underwriting leadership as we continue to build SCOR’s specialty insurance presence in the London market.”

SCOR Syndicate 2015 is known for its direct, specialty insurance business, underwriting property and specialty classes.

These include cyber, environmental impairment liability, fine art, legal solutions, political and credit risks, renewable energy, and terrorism and political violence.

The syndicate is supported by SCOR and is fully integrated with SCOR Business Solutions, the insurance arm of the SCOR group.
