W. R. Berkley Corporation has launched Berkley Embedded Solutions to offer customised insurance offerings at the point of purchase.
This will integrate technology with “digital-first” insurance solutions and Berkley’s underwriting capabilities.
Stephanie Lloyd, with 20 years of experience in the property and casualty (P&C) sector, will lead the new business as president with immediate effect.
Lloyd transitions from her recent role as the CEO of a global technology company in the digital health and well-being industry.
Her background includes several leadership positions in underwriting, product development, and distribution within the P&C insurance sector.
Commenting on the appointment, W. R. Berkley Corporation president and CEO W. Robert Berkley, Jr. said: “Stephanie is recognised as a pioneer in the embedded insurance market, having launched and scaled a successful embedded platform serving customers across several global consumer brands.
“Berkley Embedded’s value proposition will be offering traditional insurance industry expertise while simultaneously meeting customers where they want to be met. We are delighted to have Stephanie lead Berkley’s efforts along this important frontier.”
Last month, the company’s reinsurance unit, Berkley Re, launched Berkley Re Turnkey Solutions.
It is designed to provide reinsured solutions to a diverse client base including carriers, managing general agents, programme administrators and insurtech companies.
Established in 1967, W. R. Berkley Corporation serves the commercial lines segment in the US.
The company’s operations span globally across two key areas of the P&C insurance business – Insurance and Reinsurance & Monoline Excess.
