Newly launched Lion Street,
which has the makings of a significant new player in the US
insurance distribution market, has, in its initial foray, said it
had “extended invitations to a limited number of elite life
insurance advisers” to partner with it.

“Our industry has a
significant pattern of success when top producers develop economic
alignment in a company they own, control and want to see prosper,”
commented Lion Street’s founder and CEO Bob Carter.

Lion Street comes with strong
financial backing, having secured an initial $5m from US private
equity firm Austin Ventures, and an additional commitment of $45m.
The company has also already established a number of important
distribution partnerships with insurers including Transamerica,
MetLife and ING.
