The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 6.78% in May 2021 compared with April 2021.
Out of the insurance industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.52% share in May 2021, recording decrease of 0.58% over the last three-month average share.

Top five insurance companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in May 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada insurance industry during May 2021 over April 2021.
Dai-ichi Life Holdings posted 75 IT jobs in May 2021 and registered a rise of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by The Travelers Companies with 35 jobs and a 27.08% drop. Manulife Financial with 24 IT jobs and Intact Financial with 21 jobs, recorded an 11.11% drop and a 27.59% decline, respectively, while Sun Life Financial recorded a 5.26% an increase with 20 job postings during May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.99%, down by 3.3% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 13.98% share, a decline of 4.26% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.73% share, up 50% over April 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.31%, recording a month-on-month an flat growth.
