June 2021 has seen an increase of 0.05% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 12.09% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 47.78% in June 2021, a 7.53% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 26.67% in June 2021, marking a 45.45% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 12.78% in June 2021, a 76.92% growth from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 19.59% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s insurance industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Sanlam posted 112 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 12% over the previous month, followed by Discovery with 51 jobs and a 30.77% growth. New York Life Insurance with 7 IT jobs and Old Mutual with 4 jobs, recorded a 600% growth and a 50% drop, respectively, while Willis Towers Watson recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s insurance industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 92.78% share in June 2021, a 10.6% rise over May 2021. Lebanon featured next with a 3.89% share, up 600% over the previous month. Jordan recorded a 1.67% share, a flat growth compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.11%, down by 17.21% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 35.56% share, a growth of 156% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.33% share, up 7.14% over May 2021.
