August 2021 has seen an increase of 9.98% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 9.66% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering a decrease of 0.3% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 51.57% in August 2021, a 10.95% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 19.46% in August 2021, marking a 16.4% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 11.78% in August 2021, an 18.25% rise from July 2021.

Top five insurance companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 14.9% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s insurance industry during August 2021 over previous month.
UnitedHealth Group posted 507 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a decline of 7.82% over the previous month, followed by Anthem with 372 jobs and a 19.23% growth. Dai-ichi Life Holdings with 242 IT jobs and Centene with 188 jobs, recorded a 227.03% rise and a 2.17% rise, respectively, while USAA recorded a 1.23% increase with 164 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s insurance industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 94.17% share in August 2021, an 11.73% increase over July 2021. Canada featured next with a 4.98% share, down 4.06% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.82% share, a growth of 29.17% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.96%, up by 11.59% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 25.81% share, registered a growth of 6.3% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.18% share, up 22.19% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.05%, recording a month-on-month decline of 11.11%.
