July 2021 has seen an increase of 2.67% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 9.61% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2021, registering an increase of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 47.73% in July 2021, a 12.32% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 20.15% in July 2021, marking a 7.95% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.06% in July 2021, a 10.53% drop from June 2021.

Top five insurance companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 15.75% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s insurance industry during July 2021 over previous month.
UnitedHealth Group posted 297 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a decline of 19.51% over the previous month, followed by Anthem with 283 jobs and a 1.8% growth. Centene with 184 IT jobs and USAA with 157 jobs, recorded a 15.98% decline and an 8.28% increase, respectively, while The Allstate recorded a 41.89% decline with 154 job postings during July 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s insurance industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with an 88.68% share in July 2021, a 10.1% decline over June 2021. Canada featured next with a 10.58% share, down 8.12% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.71% share, a growth of 4.76% compared with June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.33%, down by 9.45% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.51% share, a decline of 11.01% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.71% share, down 11.94% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.45%, recording a month-on-month growth of 21.62%.
