Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 48.08% in May 2021, a 0.36% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 21.52% in May 2021, marking a 17.55% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.57% in May 2021, a 16.32% growth from April 2021.

Top five insurance companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 21.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s insurance industry during May 2021 over previous month.
UnitedHealth Group posted 358 IT jobs in May 2021 and registered a an increase of 5.6% over the previous month, followed by Anthem with 310 jobs and a 9.54% growth. USAA with 144 IT jobs and Lincoln Financial Group with 142 jobs, recorded a 22.16% decline and a 491.67% increase, respectively, while Dai-ichi Life Holdings recorded a 104.35% an increase with 141 job postings during May 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s insurance industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with an 87.91% share in May 2021, a 4.99% rise over April 2021. Canada featured next with an 11.12% share, down 2.13% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.97% share, a growth of 40% compared with April 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.06%, down by 3.02% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.9% share, a growth of 34.32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.56% share, up 35.29% over April 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.48%, recording a month-on-month decline of 54.84%.
