The industry’s overall hiring increased by 16.69% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Top five insurance companies in South Africa’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of South Africa’s insurance industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Sanlam posted 89 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 39.06% over the previous month, followed by Discovery with 47 jobs and a 26.56% drop. Old Mutual with 10 IT jobs and Rand Merchant Investment Holdings with 1 jobs, recorded a 25% flat growth and a 50% decrease.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.79%, up by 18.89% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.49% share, registered a decline of 7.69% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.72% share, down 55.56% over July 2021.
