June 2021 has seen an increase of 17.11% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for an 8.57% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 2.36% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 63.77% in June 2021, an 18.92% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 11.59% in June 2021, marking a 20% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 8.7% in June 2021, a flat growth from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1.69% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s insurance industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Willis Towers Watson posted 22 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 175% over the previous month, followed by AIA Group with 22 jobs and a 33.33% drop. Porto Seguro with 8 IT jobs and UnitedHealth Group with 5 jobs, recorded a 46.67% decline and a 150% increase, respectively, while Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana recorded a 200% an increase with 3 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s insurance industry
Peru commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 33.33% share in June 2021, an 187.5% rise over May 2021. Anguilla featured next with a 31.88% share, down 33.33% over the previous month. Brazil recorded a 17.39% share, a drop of 47.83% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.67%, down by 2.13% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with an 18.84% share, a decline of 27.78% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.14% share, up 16.67% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 4.35%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
