Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 56.25% in May 2021, a 350% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 16.25% in May 2021, marking a 160% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.5% in May 2021, a 150% growth from April 2021.

Top five insurance companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 188% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s insurance industry during May 2021 over previous month.

AIA Group posted 33 IT jobs in May 2021 and registered a an increase of 3200% over the previous month, followed by Willis Towers Watson with 16 jobs and a 14.29% growth. Porto Seguro with 15 IT jobs and Samsung Life Insurance with 5 jobs, recorded an 87.5% growth and a 150% increase, respectively, while UnitedHealth Group recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during May 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s insurance industry

Anguilla commanded a leading presence in the region’s insurance industry IT hiring activity with a 41.25% share in May 2021, a 3200% rise over April 2021. Brazil featured next with a 28.75% share, up 109.09% over the previous month. Peru recorded a 20% share, a growth of 33.33% compared with April 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, up by 93.1% from April 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.5% share, a growth of 1700% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.5% share, up 100% over April 2021.
