The value marked an increase of 212.2% over the previous month of $4.92bn and a rise of 271.9% when compared with the last 12-month average of $4.13bn.

In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a rise of 54.55% with 34 deals in March 2021 when compared to the last 12-month average of 22 deals.

In value terms, North America led the activity with deals worth $13.95bn in March 2021.
