Total insurance industry deals worth $5.4bn were announced globally for July 2021, with the $2.2bn private equity deal with SAFG Retirement Services being the sector’s biggest investment, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 14.04% over the previous month of $4.7bn and a drop of 10.2% when compared with the last 12-month average of $5.97bn.
In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a rise of 39.47% with 53 deals in July 2021 when compared to the last 12-month average of 38 deals.
In value terms, North America led the activity with deals worth $3.03bn in July 2021.
