Acrisure has named Mark Wassersug as its chief technology officer (CTO) and Shawn Pelsinger as chief administrative officer (CAO).

These appointments will be effective later this month, with both reporting to Acrisure co-founder, chairman and CEO Greg Williams.

Williams said: “As Acrisure enters its next phase of growth, Mark and Shawn bring extensive experience with scaled financial technology companies. Their expertise will be key as we expand our global technology platform and build a differentiated business.”

In his new role as CTO, Wassersug will head the company’s information technology (IT) initiatives, utilising his fintech and mergers and acquisitions expertise.

Before Acrisure, he worked for 22 years at Intercontinental Exchange, latterly as its chief operating officer.

Wassersug commented: “Acrisure’s rapid transformation from an insurance brokerage platform to a global fintech powerhouse is remarkable. Acrisure’s focus on AI, client-centric approach and growth potential made this an easy decision. I am excited to contribute to their continued success.”

Pelsinger, as the incoming CAO, will manage Acrisure’s legal, human resources and regulatory affairs departments, in addition to supporting business development teams.

He most recently worked at Palantir Technologies, where he was the global head of corporate development.

Pelsinger’s experience spans various sectors and includes heading the establishment of Palantir’s operations in Japan and Korea.

Pelsinger stated: “I have been impressed with how Acrisure has transformed both their brand, and the way they have evolved their technology and AI capabilities to better service clients across the board. I look forward to working with Mark, and joining Greg, John and the exceptional team at Acrisure.”

Last month, Acrisure Re, the reinsurance division of Acrisure, strengthened its Corporate Advisory & Solutions division with multiple new executive appointments.

Lauren Johnson was appointed as head of Funds at Lloyd’s, Assad Negyal as head of Pricing, David Ryan as head of exposure management and Lucas He as vice-president of retrospective solutions.
