Aegon UK has appointed Stephen McGee as its chief financial officer, a role he has held on an interim basis since August 2015.
Prior to becoming CFO, McGee was a key part of Aegon UK’s finance leadership team, including latterly as finance director, existing business, as well as leading a strategic review of the business in his time as commercial programme director.
He joined Aegon in 2014 from Lloyds Banking Group where he was chief actuary. McGee has been in the insurance industry for over 20 years spending most of his time prior to Lloyds in senior finance and actuarial roles at Phoenix Life Group.
Commenting on the role McGee said: “2016 has been a very significant year for Aegon with the sale of our annuity book, the acquisition of BlackRock’s DC pension business and more recently Cofunds. This is an exciting time for the business and I look forward to leading the finance team as the business transitions from traditional life company to a platform business.”
