ALKEME, a US-based insurance broker, has announced the acquisition of Summit Insurance Group for an undisclosed sum.

Summit, known for its expertise in medicare, individual and group health insurance plans, brings more than 30 years of combined experience to ALKEME’s growing portfolio.

The acquired company operates across multiple states including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

The acquisition of the Coral Springs-based company is expected to enhance ALKEME’s capabilities in addressing the health insurance needs of individuals and businesses throughout the south-east.

ALKEME CEO Curtis Barton said: “We are excited to have Summit join the ALKEME family and add to our presence in the south-east.

“Their deep expertise in Florida Blue products and their commitment to client service aligns perfectly with our mission to provide comprehensive insurance solutions.

“This acquisition allows us to expand our reach and better serve the growing Medicare and health insurance market in Florida.”

Summit Health Group co-founder Jon Wood said: “Joining forces with ALKEME opens up exciting opportunities for our team and our clients.

“This partnership will allow us to continue our tradition of excellence while exploring new growth opportunities.”

This move follows ALKEME’s recent expansion activities including the acquisitions of InsurePro and Hardwick Insurance last month, and Ralph Weiner & Associates earlier in April.

InsurePro is a personal and commercial specialist from Draper, Utah, while Hardwick Insurance is a commercial and personal specialist from Lafayette, Louisiana.

Additionally, the acquisition of Ralph Weiner & Associates expanded ALKEME’s service offerings in the US Midwest.
