Allianz has been rewarded for
its efforts to clean up its environmental act. In its Best Global
Green Brands 2011 survey, global brand rating company Interbrand
has ranked the European insurer as the greenest financial service
company in the world. On an overall basis, Allianz ranked 21st, up
from 67th in Interbrand’s 2010 study.
In making the awards,
Interbrand assesses brands by consumer perception of green
activities and a demonstration of environmental
performance.
Its evaluation is based on
publicly available information and data with performance measured
across the sector’s governance, stakeholder engagement, operations,
supply chain, transportation and logistics as well as products and
services.
Other financial services
companies featuring in the top 50 of Interbrand’s ranking were Axa
(41st), Credit Suisse (44th), Citi (46th), Barclays (47th) and HSBC
(48th).
Japanese vehicle manufacturer, Toyota was ranked as the
world’s greenest brand, followed by 3M of the US and Siemens of
Germany.
