American General Life Companies has been selected as preferred life insurance partner by financial services firm Edward Jones.

The latest deal will strengthen the insurance company’s broad distribution network for products, including guaranteed universal life insurance (GUL), variable universal life insurance (VUL), survivorship universal life insurance (SUL), and term life insurance.

AIG Financial Distributors Life Insurance executive vice president and chief distribution officer John Deremo said that the company is delighted to have the opportunity to serve the over 12,000 Edward Jones financial advisors in the US as they help individuals reach their serious, long-term financial goals.

"Edward Jones is a leader in the financial-services industry, and through our valued partnership, their financial advisors now have access to our portfolio of innovative, flexible protection solutions that truly meet the needs of today’s consumers," Deremo added.

Edward Jones principal Merry Mosbacher said that the clients face a number of uncertainties, such as longevity, inflation and health care costs.

"The newly approved American General life insurance products can help our financial advisors address client concerns by offering a way to help them prepare for the unexpected," Mosbacher added.
