Amwins Specialty Casualty Solutions (ASCS), part of Amwins, has unveiled its Public Entity Excess Casualty Programme, designed to meet the needs of public entities such as municipalities, schools and special service districts.
The programme aims to provide these organisations with access to customised reinsurance solutions that have been challenging to obtain.
The new programme is supported by “A-” rated carriers and a panel of global reinsurers, offering liability coverage up to $3m per occurrence and workers’ compensation up to $2m per occurrence.
The workers’ compensation is available only as reinsurance, while the liability coverage can be in the form of follow-form excess or reinsurance.
The new offering covers options to accommodate a variety of attachment points and structural features, such as annual aggregate deductibles, to help clients meet their premium targets.
The coverage includes auto, employee benefits, employment practices, general, law enforcement, public official and school board legal liabilities.
The programme caters to a range of public entities including cities, counties, community colleges, public housing authorities, public schools, special service districts, towns and villages.
It is suitable for both pools and individual risks, requiring a minimum self-insured retention of $100,000 and a minimum premium of $200,000 per account (share).
ASCS president Andrew Kay said: “This programme positions us as an industry leader in the public entity market. By adding this programme to our portfolio, we are empowering public entities with a seamless, all-in-one solution for property, casualty and workers’ compensation coverage all under one roof – meeting the growing demand for comprehensive and innovative risk management strategies in this space.”
ASCS is a managing general agent (MGA) known for creating specialty insurance programmes. It has written approximately $1bn in annual premiums across various niche industries.
In January this year, Amwins acquired Superior Underwriters, an MGA based in Bellevue, Washington, US.
