French wholesale broker APRIL Group has expanded its presence in Shanghai and the broader pan-Asian region.
This move will extend the company’s health insurance offerings to both local residents and those living abroad.
It is part of the company’s ongoing internationalisation process, which recently included the inauguration of new offices in Dubai and Cologne.
The expansion in China is set to enhance its foothold across Asia, where it now operates in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
APRIL International caters to individuals and companies undertaking international mobility projects, as well as high-net-worth individuals seeking access to local healthcare networks.
The company has tapped its long-term partner AIG to grow its operations in China.

APRIL Group CEO Eric Maumy said: “The Asian market is already an important and high-potential territory, where we have been successfully operating for more than 18 years. Our enhanced presence in China marks another step forward in our development strategy to become a global champion by 2027.
“We already operate in 19 countries and over the coming months we plan to expand into new areas through greenfield openings and acquisitions.”
APRIL international Asia and Middle East CEO Romain Di Meglio said: “Local support for our partners and policyholders is one of the keys to our sustainable growth in the international healthcare market. Our strengthened presence in Shanghai will enable us to further accelerate our development in China and Asia, by expanding our healthcare network and developing insurance solutions that are increasingly tailored to local needs.”
