Legal expenses insurance provider ARAG has concluded the integration of the DAS UK brand into its operations.

This move follows ARAG Group’s acquisition of DAS UK, a legal protection insurance business headquartered in Bristol, last year.

DAS UK was acquired from ERGO Versicherung, the property and casualty insurance unit of Germany’s ERGO Group.

The integration of the business has resulted in the establishment of ARAG Legal Expenses Insurance Company and ARAG Law.

Highlighting the benefits of the deal, ARAG CEO Tony Buss said: “The opportunities created by having an insurance company and our own law firm are enormous for ARAG but will also create significant benefits for our business partners and value for our policyholders.”

The company is consolidating all Bristol-based workers and operations into one central location. It will retain its offices in Bedwas, South Wales; and Lime Street, London.

Concurrent with the brand integration, the ARAG Group has unveiled a new logo and visual identity.

Buss added: “I’m sure that all of our broker, insurer, solicitor and other partners will appreciate the continuity we have maintained in retaining their familiar contacts and teams but will also benefit from the even greater strength and experience that ARAG now has to call upon.

“We recognise that the disappearance of the DAS brand from the UK market after 50 years marks the end of one era, especially for those of us who worked for the company, but the two businesses shared a common vision and many values.”
