American insurance brokerage firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co has purchased Australia-based The Protectors Insurance Brokers and Regent Insurance Brokers.
The acquired businesses are collectively referred to as The Protectors Group (TPG).
TPG, which was established in 1982 as a retail insurance broker, offers construction, hospitality and transport coverage for commercial and corporate clients in Greater Western Sydney.
As per terms of the agreement, David Michell, Vince Gioiello and their associates will continue to operate from their existing location under the leadership of Sean Gallagher, who is head of branches for Gallagher Australia.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co chairman, president and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., said: “TPG is a second-generation family business that represents a very good cultural fit for Gallagher and expands our geographical presence in the key growth area of Western Sydney. We are very pleased to welcome David, Vince and their team to Gallagher.”
Concurrently, Arthur J. Gallagher has also concluded the previously announced takeover of the global aerospace operations of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT).
