Arthur J. Gallagher has acquired Shepard Insurance Group, a retail insurance broker based in Connecticut, US. 

The deal consideration was not revealed.

Shepard Insurance will continue to operate from its base in Old Greenwich, Connecticut under the leadership of Gallagher Northeast region retail property/casualty brokerage operations head Brendan Gallagher. 

Established in 1979 by Steve Shepard, Shepard Insurance focuses on offering home, flood, construction and life insurance services. 

The company caters to high-net-worth clients in the north-eastern US as well as Florida.

The latest deal continues Gallagher’s buying spree. 

Recently, the company acquired THB Chile, a retail insurance broker based in Santiago, Chile, which specialises in property/casualty, life and health benefits, as well as reinsurance services. 

Earlier this month, it expanded its US footprint by acquiring Peabody Insurance Agency, which serves commercial and personal lines clients in Michigan, with a focus on manufacturing, construction and multi-family real estate sectors. 

Gallagher also acquired Scout Benefits Group based in Oklahoma City, which specialises in employee benefits consulting services. 

The Scout Benefits team, including Tiffany Davis and Todd Davis, will continue to operate from their current location, reporting to Leah Vetter, head of Gallagher Central region employee benefits consulting operations.
