
Arthur J. Gallagher, an Illinois-based insurance brokerage firm, has snapped up New York-based retail insurance broker and programme administrator United Dealer Services for an undisclosed sum.
United Dealer Services offers insurance services to franchised auto dealers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Michigan, Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Pennsylvania.
At the same time, the firm serves as a programme administrator for franchised auto dealers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania as well as Michigan.
The acquired entity’s principals Randolph T. and Dustin Winston will continue to operate from their existing location.
The pair will now work under the guidance of Dan Tropp, who leads Arthur J. Gallagher’s Mid-Atlantic retail property/casualty brokerage business.

Arthur J. Gallagher, which has operations in 34 countries, made several acquisitions this year with the most recent being the acquisition of California-based Wheatman Insurance Services.
Last month, Arthur J. Gallagher purchased Ontario-based Leystone Insurance & Financial.
