UnderwriteMe and Aviva have announced that the insurance firm will use UnderwriteMe’s Underwriting Rules Engine (URE).
This applies to all of Aviva’s business in Ireland in 2020.

The URE provides Aviva underwriters with hands-on control of their customers’ protection journey. This is achieved by giving the ability to change questions, update the “help text” and amend underwriting rules for each channel or partner. Furthermore, this can all be completed without IT support.
The two businesses began working together when Aviva acquired Friends First’s life business in 2018. Aviva will now use the enging for all of its life protection business.

Zurich has also launched on the UnderwriteMe Protection Platform. As a result, its life insurance and life & critical illness direct-to-consumer products will be available on Money Supermarket’s version of the platform.
In addition, the goal is to also have Zurich’s intermediary products more widely on the Protection Platform. This will enable other distributors, including advisers, to access “buy now” prices from Zurich alongside all other insurers on the UnderwriteMe software.
The Protection Platform lets customers access multiple products from multiple insurers in one place. It is based around a single underwriting question set for multiple lives, products, and insurers.
Furthermore, it also holds a full integration with research firm Defaqto, which allows in-depth product comparisons.
