AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company has appointed David Kahal as senior vice president of life distribution management.

Kahal is responsible for accelerating the growth of AXA Equitable’s proprietary life insurance products in the company’s retail channels and to third-party distributors. He is also responsible for distributing methods to new market segments.

David O’Leary, executive vice president and head of financial protection at AXA Equitable said: "Dave’s deep understanding of and proven success in retails and wholesale distribution make him an excellent choice for this leadership role."

Prior to his appointment, Kahal was the divisional president of the national division of AXA Equitable’s retail distributional channel, AXA Advisors.

Before joining AXA, Kahal was a co-founder and owner of LifeSource Executive Benefits and Insurance Service, a specialized brokerage general agency.
