AXA Partners, a digital arm of French Insurance major AXA, has partnered with Chinese messaging and e-commerce firm WeChat to offer travel insurance services in the country.

As part of the collaboration, the partners have rolled out their first WeChat Mini Program, called “AXA Go”, to offer end-to-end travel insurance services for WeChat users.

Managed by AXA TianPing, AXA’s property and casualty company in China, the Mini Program has been integrated into the WeChat Go ecosystem.

The “AXA Go” Mini Program will provide Chinese travellers with an optimised customer journey besides helping them to plan and purchase suitable insurance coverage through WeChat Pay before departure.

During journey, AXA Go will provide one-click, round the clock global emergency access to AXA Assistance’s services, including hospital admission, and repatriation, as well as access to AXA customer service.

After completion of their journey, the platform will help users to file paperless claims as well as earn points in the “AXA Go” membership programme.

Commenting on the collaboration, AXA Partners Asia CEO Jérôme Itty said: “We are proud to provide Chinese travellers with an exclusive on-demand access to travel insurance, assistance and other key travel services, all through the convenience of the AXA Go Mini Program on WeChat.

“The unique and innovative AXA Go Mini Program, fully aligned with AXA’s payer-to-partner strategy, will help WeChat to enrich their customer experience.”
