AXA XL, a division of AXA specialising in P&C and specialty risks, has announced the appointment of two executives to bolster its Asian operations.
Todd Wilhelm has been named head of specialty, Asia, while Guillaume Parard will take on the role of head of P&C, Asia.
These appointments align with AXA XL’s goal to improve operational effectiveness and provide “impactful solutions” to its clients and brokers in the region.
Wilhelm, whose career started in 1988, will lead the specialty team across various niche markets including political risk, credit bonds, fine arts and specie, and crisis management, as well as marine and aerospace.
His previous roles include senior underwriting leadership positions at FM, ACE Insurance and QBE Insurance.
Wilhelm’s stint at AXA XL began in December 2017, focusing on property, energy and construction lines, before advancing to his current leadership position.

Parard, who will oversee the property, energy, construction and casualty teams in Asia, will work to fortify AXA XL’s market presence and ensure strong performance across these business lines.
His insurance career commenced in 2007 with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty and continued with AXA Group in 2014.
Currently, as head of energy & construction for APAC & Europe at AXA XL, Parard has managed key portfolios and spearheaded strategic projects.
His new role will officially begin on 1 January 2025, with a gradual transition starting now.
Both Wilhelm and Parard will be stationed in Singapore.
