PeriGen, a firm that specialises in developing AI-based systems for obstetrics, has partnered with insurer Beazley to provide its safety-based obstetric programme to insurer’s’ healthcare clients in the US.
Under the agreement, Beazley will support distribution of PeriGen’s AI-powered early warning system for labour and delivery, PeriWatch Vigilance.
It works alongside any existing electronic fetal monitor and assesses any existing long-term trends in fetal heart rate, contractions, maternal vitals and labour progress.
Using these assessments, the solution provides bedside clinicians with a steady, real-time flow of risk management information.
Additionally, the system offers telemedicine tools which enable a single patient safety clinician to provide “safety net” monitoring across an entire network of hospitals.
Healthcare providers partnered with Beazley’s Quality Indicator Return Premium (QuIRP) programme can now integrate the early warning system for labour and delivery into their risk management programme.
