US insurance company Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced key leadership appointments to strengthen its operations in Asia.
Kiran Prakash has been named head of first party lines for Asia, overseeing energy, construction, and general property, while Jessie Yuen has been promoted to head of energy for the region.
Prakash, who joined BHSI in 2015, brings nearly two decades of insurance industry experience to his dual role, which also includes his ongoing position as vice president, regional head of engineering and builders risk in Asia.
Yuen, replacing Min Ong who has moved to London, steps into her new role with over 20 years of experience in first-party lines.
Her promotion to head of energy, Asia, will see her leading the property energy business, delivering solutions for power, mining, and oil & gas sectors across the region.

Meanwhile, BHSI has been continuing its global expansion with a recent entry into Spain’s surety market.
The company aims to develop a range of surety solutions to support various projects and mitigate risks within the Spanish market.
BHSI’s move into Spain follows the opening of a new office in Stockholm to expand in the Nordic region.
The expansion into the Nordics has also led to senior-level appointments, with Anna Green as the head of Nordics, Karin Bryner as head of executive & professional lines, and Anton Holmgren as head of general property in the region.
