US insurance major Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has opened a new office in Stockholm, Sweden, to expand operations in the Nordic region.
As part of the expansion, BHSI has also made senior-level appointments that include Anna Green as the head of Nordics, Karin Bryner as head of executive & professional lines and Anton Holmgren as head of general property in the region.
Green assumes the role of head of Nordics with broad industry experience spanning Europe, the UK and Asia-Pacific, totalling more than 20 years. Her expertise lies in environmental and specialty underwriting.
Previously, she served as CEO of a Swedish branch at another international insurer.
Bryner has more than 20 years of experience in financial lines underwriting, with over ten of those years being devoted to Nordic risks.
Her most recent position was as underwriting manager for financial lines at another international insurer in Sweden.

Throughout his career, he has held progressively higher-level underwriting positions, such as Nordic head of underwriting, property, engineering lines & marine.
Underwriting for executive and professional lines, general property, energy and construction will commence immediately at BHSI’s Nordic branch.

In April this year, BHSI expanded its marine insurance portfolio in the US with the launch a new offering for midmarket and large, risk-managed customers.
