Insurtech start-up BIMA is set to roll out its new life and health insurance products using the OutSystems low-code platform.
At present, the insurtech firm is using the platform to set up customer engagement web and mobile apps for its new life and health insurance products.
Scheduled to be launched from January next year, BIMA will target Pakistani customers where it serves approximately three million customers.
Subsequently, the insurance plans will be launched in eight other markets with an aim to cover up to six million customers through 2020.
BIMA chief product and technology officer Stephen Lovell said: “Several factors led us to use OutSystems to build our new BIMA Life and BIMA Health customer engagement apps.
“These factors include, faster speed to market, support for an iterative development approach, and the need for brilliant user experiences.

OutSystems regional director of financial services and insurance Garry Larner stated: “We’re excited to be working with BIMA because of their Insurtech pedigree, and especially as improving access to health services and life coverage for families in the emerging markets is such a worthwhile cause.”
Additionally, BIMA will leverage OutSystems’ platform to develop a web-based doctors’ portal as well as a mobile sales app for field agents.
Using the new BIMA mobile app, its health customers can access doctor consultations and other mobile health services.
