Irish Insurtech Blink Parametric is set to expand its flight disruption insurance platform to Central and Latin America in partnership with travel assistance company Terrawind Global Protection.
Scheduled to launch this month, the platform will deliver a personalised travel solution to Terrawind customers who are travelling for both business and leisure globally.
Announcing the partnership, Blink CEO and co-founder Paul Prendergast said: “We were tasked by Terrawind to deliver a seamless, superior customer service experience for their clients and the result is a real-time service that provides options and alleviates stress when customers need it most.
“At a critical time when the travel industry begins to recover and we see the increasing movement of people worldwide, Terrawind’s assistance services will play an important role in restoring confidence to the travelling public and we are proud to play our part in that effort.”
Blink solution monitors the flight in real-time when a customer registers their flight details and notify the traveller if a delay or cancellation occurs.
Terrawind Global Protection’s registered customers will be offered facilities including airport lounge access if a flight is delayed by three hours or more. They may be also given a cash payout per traveller, which will be deposited into their Paypal account.
