BMS Re, the speciality reinsurance arm of BMS Group, has named Anthony Mirabal as CEO of the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) division.
Mirabal, whose appointment is effective as of November 2024, has been working for over three decades in the reinsurance space, having started his career as a casualty underwriter with Gen Re.
His background includes various underwriting, production, and management positions at reinsurance companies in the region such as ERC and EWB.
In 2001, he founded a reinsurance intermediary, RRISC, in Miami, which was acquired by JLTRe in late 2016.
His career continued to evolve with a six-year stint at Guy Carpenter following MMC’s acquisition of the JLT Group in 2018.
Operating out of Miami, Mirabal will report to BMS International CEO Nick Gillett.

This appointment comes as part of BMS Re’s broader executive restructuring.
Last week, BMS Re appointed Brad Melvin as the president and CEO of BMS Re US, with a November start date.
Reporting to Group CEO Nick Cook, Melvin will spearhead the US operations, focusing on strategic goals and fostering growth across various service lines, including advisory, capital solutions, facultative reinsurance, healthcare, and MGA.
Melvin previously served in executive leadership and client development positions at Gen Re, CNA Financial, and Aon Reinsurance Solutions.
The recent appointments at BMS also include Anna Painter as the head of global healthcare technical operations and Spencer Pearce as the head of its mining practice.
