In an insurer’s marketing armoury the
internet today plays a key role, and one new UK company,
Virtualpresenter.co.uk, believes it can greatly enhance a firm’s
online presence.

At the heart of Virtualpresenter’s service is
a specially filmed video of a professional, experienced TV
presenter which is placed onto an insurance company’s website to
guide visitors towards specific pages. Virtualpresenter believes
its system is the most advanced use yet of business video on the
internet.

“This is the perfect way to get visitors to do
exactly what you want them to do on your website,” said Steve
Smith, a co-founder of Virtualpresenter. “You can use it in any
way, such as highlighting a specific product or service you have on
offer.”

Virtualpresenter’s own experience over a
six-month period was that the video presenter is on average three
times more effective at getting customer response than static
pictures or text.

“For many websites, a response rate increase
of just a few percent can have a significant impact on revenues,”
said Smith. “Here we are talking about tripling response rates. We
are confident this is the future of business video on the web.”

Working out of a purpose-built studio,
Virtualpresenter hosts the video service thus requiring clients to
merely insert a piece of code into their website to use the service
which costs from £1,150 ($1,600) excluding VAT.

At present, 20 TV presenters are available, a
number Virtualpresenter intends to increase.
