US-based insurance broker Brown & Brown has signed a deal to buy the general insurance business of Patrick Quinlan Insurance (Quinlan Insurance).
Brown & Brown did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in June 2022.
Quinlan Insurance is a boutique-style commercial insurance brokerage based in Dublin, Ireland.
With over three decades of experience in insurance advisory, Patrick Quinlan founded Quinlan Insurance in 2008.
It provides commercial insurance advice, services, and solutions to a wide range of commercial segments.
One of its specialisations is in providing property insurance services to apartment block management firms and property owners and their agents.
Brown & Brown retail segment president Barrett Brown said: “Patrick demonstrated the entrepreneurial spirit valued by Brown & Brown in building his successful agency. We are excited about the capabilities that the Quinlan Insurance team brings to our O’Leary Insurances operations and the further growth and enhancement of our presence in Dublin.”
Patrick Quinlan said: “I truly welcome this agreement. It will benefit our customers and our staff and provides certainty in these uncertain times. This opportunity will allow us to continue growing our business and focusing on our customers in partnership with O’Leary Insurances and Brown & Brown.”
In March 2022, Brown & Brown brokered a deal to buy Global Risk Partners (GRP) for an undisclosed sum.
GRP is said to employ over 2,100 insurance professionals in more than 110 locations across the UK and Ireland.
