Chubb has named Ana Robic as its new regional president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), replacing David Furby, as part of a broader leadership overhaul.

Robic currently serves as the senior vice-president and division president of personal risk services (PRS) in North America.

In her new position, she will oversee Chubb’s European business, which includes the UK, continental Europe, Chubb global markets, the Middle East and Africa.

She will report to Paul McNamee, executive vice-president of Chubb Group and president of Chubb overseas general insurance.

Robic has been with Chubb since 1999, serving as the division president of PRS since 2021.

Before PRS, she held leadership positions within Chubb in Canada, including in commercial insurance, the Underwriting Centre and the Excess and Umbrella division.

Meanwhile, Furby, senior vice-president of Chubb Group, will transition to the role of executive chairman for the EMEA region.

In this capacity, Furby will have executive oversight, focusing on strategy and governance of Chubb’s general insurance business in the region.

He will remain a board member of Chubb’s European Group as well as chair its underwriting risk committee.

Furby’s insurance career spans 43 years, of which 29 years have been spent at Chubb.

The appointments will take effect on 1 April, pending regulatory approvals.

Melissa Scheffler, currently the chief operating officer of PRS, will take on Robic’s former role as the president of PRS and become vice-president of Chubb Group.

She will report to Juan Luis Ortega, executive vice-president for Chubb and president for Chubb North America.

Scheffler joined Chubb in 1994, holding underwriting, marketing, sales and management roles across various regions including the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and New York.

McNamee said: “These appointments and increased responsibilities demonstrate Chubb’s deep bench of talent with long-tenured executives who are able to take on increased responsibilities, as well as the growth aspirations we have for our business. I am thrilled to welcome Ana into Chubb Overseas General and the region’s leadership.

“I would also like to thank David for his leadership in Europe over the last seven years. Under David, our business has grown substantially and has been a pillar of performance within our international operations.”

Chubb registered net income of $2.57bn (SFr2.31bn) in the fourth quarter of 2024 (Q4 2024), down 22% from $3.3bn in Q4 2023. For the full year, net income rose by 2.7% to $9.27bn.
