Chubb, a global property and casualty insurance provider, has agreed to acquire Catalyst Aviation Insurance for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Catalyst Aviation is a manging general agent (MGA) specialising in general aviation insurance.
This move strengthens Chubb’s foothold in the Australian aviation insurance market, providing enhanced access for local brokers and clients.
It will complement Chubb Global Markets’ offerings, as well as its London market wholesale and specialty operations.
As per the definitive agreement, Brendan Warner, the current managing director of Catalyst Aviation, will continue to steer the underwriting for the aviation business in Australia, ensuring continuity for clients and partners.
Chubb country president of Australia and New Zealand Peter Kelaher said: “Catalyst Aviation has built a strong reputation in the general aviation market in Australia, and I am pleased to be welcoming the team to Chubb. This acquisition further strengthens our position as an insurer of choice for brokers and clients in the local market, expanding our capabilities and expertise in the aviation sector.”
