Church Mutual Insurance Company has rolled out a vendor programme with SafelyYou to offer fall prevention technology to its memory care customers.

This technology is said to minimise fall risks, emergency room visits and the long-term cost of insurance premiums.

SafelyYou leverages artificial intelligence to enable care staff to carry out fall prevention and provide real-time video of resident falls.

It is said that the cameras activate only when a fall is detected, ensuring privacy and liability. Memory care staff, who will be immediately alerted when a fall occurs, can use the videos to determine the root cause.

Furthermore, it will enable them to decide whether a patient needs an ER visit and will support resident-specific care strategies.

The findings can be applied globally to reduce falls, the company noted.
