GEICO has selected North Texas as the newest hub for its commercial insurance operations, a move that will add 500 new jobs in the region.
The expansion is said to support the company’s small business customers.
During a ceremony marking the expansion, the company said that 300 of the new positions will be based at its Richardson office.
This location is now a central hub for GEICO’s commercial insurance, alongside its offices in Katy, Texas, and Fredericksburg, Virginia.
The remaining 200 roles will be filled by professionals in sales, service and claims to support GEICO’s other lines of business.
This growth comes after a 18-month period of development for GEICO’s commercial insurance sector with the introduction of new offerings such as long-haul trucking insurance.
