Italian insurance giant Generali has appointed Cécile Paillard as the new group chief transformation officer.
Paillard, who has been working in the financial services realm for more than 25 years, will assume her new responsibility on 2 September 2024, reporting directly to Generali general manager Marco Sesana.
She brings expertise in strategic planning as well as innovation.
Her background includes leadership positions at global insurance companies, latterly as the CEO Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa of Coface Group.
Paillard ‘s previous experience includes key roles at AXA.
In her forthcoming position at Generali, Paillard is tasked with speeding up the group’s transformation.

These elements are crucial for the advancement of the Lifetime Partner business model.
Additionally, Paillard will become a member of the insurer’s group management committee.

The appointment comes after Generali’s organisational restructuring, announced in April this year, and implemented from 1 June 2024.
The restructuring aims to propel growth and refine the management of Generali’s core insurance and asset management divisions.
Under the guidance of insurance division CEO Giulio Terzariol, efforts will be geared towards elevating insurance business performance globally.
