Generali Asia has appointed Cillin O’Flynn as CEO for Generali Hong Kong.

O’Flynn will succeed to Phuong Chung and report directly to Roberto Leonardi, Regional Officer for Asia.

He will be responsible for all operations in the Hong Kong office: life and p&c.

O’Flynn joined Generali in 2010 as chief operating officer for the Pan European business which required him to work collaboratively across the global business lines, with an additional focus on wealth management.

Over four years, he successfully grew top line revenues through a combination of expanding into new markets, developing new product propositions and executing successful marketing initiatives.

In 2014, he was appointed country manager & CEO for Middle East with responsibility for the group’s re-insurance operations. Based in the UAE, he was successful in boosting the P&C business and establishing new distribution partnerships for the life business.

Commenting on the appointment, Leonardi said “With over 23 years’ experience across information technology, consultancy, banking, insurance and investment; and a strong network across the group and global Business Lines, we are confident that Cillin will provide strong leadership to the team in Hong Kong and lead them in its growth ambitions.”

Cillin said, I feel very privileged to join Generali Asia today. I look forward to being part of a high performing team and to accelerating the development of our business in Hong Kong. Our strong tradition, great people and dedication to our customers will be key ingredients for our success.”

Prior to joining Generali, Cillin started his career in Ireland in the IT field providing solutions to international clients. Moving to a stockbroking company he extended his experience into operations with hands-on experience in executing on business strategy.
