Commercial and speciality lines insurer HDI Global has appointed Geoff Godwin as its new chief operating officer (COO) for the UK and Ireland, effective from 28 April.
In the new role, Godwin will report to HDI Global UK and Ireland CEO Stephanie Ogden and bring more than 32 years of industry experience, having held various leadership roles.
His most recent tenure was as COO at AIG, where he was part of the executive committee. His responsibilities at AIG encompassed UK operations, the customer contact centre, underwriting operations, customer complaints and conduct, and overseeing product development.
A graduate of the Institute of Legal Executives, Godwin also served as a board member of the International Underwriting Association.
Ogden said: “My ambition has always been to secure a strong, diverse executive team to help lead our UK and Ireland business, and in the short time since I became CEO, I am thrilled that we have delivered just that.
“Geoff will bring fresh thinking to our business at a time when service and operational excellence are at the core of our growth strategy. I am confident that alongside the rest of our executive team, Geoff and our whole operations function will deliver great things in 2025 and beyond.”
