Hawaii Employers Mutual Insurance Company (HEMIC), the state’s workers’ compensation insurance provider, has partnered with EvolutionIQ to manage claims.

The collaboration aims to improve outcomes for injured workers and offer superior service to Hawaii’s businesses.

HEMIC provides workers’ compensation coverage and assists injured workers in their recovery and return to work.

HEMIC will implement EvolutionIQ’s Claims Guide and Medhub Active Medical Summary across its claims operations to boost the efficiency of claims analysis and management.

EvolutionIQ’s platform will provide the claims team with AI-driven alerts, summarised insights and complementary recommendations to enhance the claims process for both employers and injured workers.

HEMIC selected EvolutionIQ for its claims insights, Guidewire ClaimCenter integration and change management strategy after a thorough search, the company stated.

HEMIC senior vice-president Tammy Teixeira said: “Our mission is to serve Hawaii businesses and workers by ensuring fair, compassionate and efficient claims processes.

“Partnering with EvolutionIQ allows us to take that mission to the next level. After an extensive search for an artificial intelligence partner, we selected EvolutionIQ for its industry-leading technology and focus on supporting our claims staff and facilitating better claims outcomes.”

EvolutionIQ co-CEO Michael Saltzman stated: “We are honoured to partner with HEMIC, a company deeply rooted in its community and focused on improving the well-being of Hawaii’s workforce. Our Claims Guidance and Medhub platforms will help HEMIC’s adjusters provide faster, more efficient service, allowing them to focus on what matters most: helping injured workers recover.”

EvolutionIQ was acquired by CCC Intelligent Solutions in a $730m deal last month.
