American insurtech start-up Hi Marley has raised $8.7m in a Series A funding round led by early stage venture capital firm True Ventures, with participation from Underscore VC.

Hi Marley has developed AI-based insurance technology that augments the claims process and allows insurance carrier to communicate with their customers using AI-enabled messaging.

Insurers can integrate Hi Marley’s platform into their services and let their customers connect automatically with the tool through text and web browser.

Besides enabling customers to buy and manage their policies, the new solution also allows insureds to file their claims without any delay.

True Ventures partner Puneet Agarwal said: “Hi Marley automates the claims process while still maintaining a very human element.

“For all stakeholders in the insurance ecosystem, the platform enables a new level of customer happiness the industry has never before seen.”
